Join us for the next GAAX event, featuring three sessions focused on a common theme: how do you move an analytics program forward from where it is today?

Our main session is a five-person panel discussion on Revamping and Advancing an Existing Data Analytics Program. Many audit functions already have the foundations in place, including established tools, analytics resources, and a growing collection of use cases. The challenge is figuring out what comes next. With many organizations currently developing their 2027 plans, this is a timely opportunity to hear what others are doing and exchange ideas.

The event is complimentary. Format is live stream only (recording available to registrants), and a 2-hour participation certificate will be provided.

  • Session 1 — Panel Discussion: Revamping and Advancing an Existing Data Analytics Program (45 minutes)
    Moderated by Mike Pretorius, Vizzi Analytics

    Raising the bar on a program that already works is a different problem from starting one. This panel takes on the question directly: where the real constraints sit, which investments have paid off, and what the panelists would do differently. Bring your own 2027 planning questions.

  • Session 2 — Using Python for Analytics (30 minutes)
    Presented by Angela Kroboth, Next Step Data Insights

    A live, end-to-end build in Jupyter Notebook. Angela loads a dataset, fits an Isolation Forest model, and walks through what the model flags and why. Useful whether you write Python today or are still deciding whether it is worth learning.

    Topics covered: Loading and preparing data in Jupyter Notebook; running an Isolation Forest model for anomaly detection; reading and interpreting the results.
  • Session 3 — Vizzi Analytics: Latest Updates (30 minutes)
    Presented by Mike Pretorius, Vizzi Analytics

    A short walkthrough of recent enhancements to the Vizzi Analytics application, and how the latest additions apply in everyday audit work.

    Topics covered: Recent feature updates and use cases.

In 2019, Thomas and Mike started a small meet-up for ACL Analytics users in Vancouver. The idea was simple: swap tips, scripts, and shortcuts that make audits faster and better. As the community expanded and new tools emerged, the group evolved into GAAX—the Global Audit Analytics Exchange—where we explore the full audit analytics toolkit, from ACL to whatever helps get the job done.

Mike is Founder of Vizzi Analytics Inc, focused on data analytics services and the development of Vizzi Analytics, a low-code analytics platform designed for auditors. He combines his background in financial auditing with a strong understanding of IT systems and data structures to help organizations turn data into meaningful business insights. Mike has earned his ACDA (ACL Certified Data Analyst) and CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) designations and is a Past President of the Vancouver Chapter of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
